Thanksgiving

Greetings,

Someone once said that true Thanksgiving, is first "thanks", then "giving". How true that is! When we really realize all that God has done for us, especially in sending His Son, Jesus Christ to this earth over 2,000 years ago, our hearts are filled with thankfulness which moves us to a life of service for Him.

If we begin to believe that somehow it is "our" strength and ability that has produced our blessings we have become deceived by our own thoughts. Just before the God's people… Continue

The Living Bread: "Profitable"

Profitable

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.—2 Timothy 3:16–17

All Scripture is profitable! Knowing this, we cheat ourselves when we do not access every book, every truth, every verse, and every page of our Bibles for the promises and commands God has for us. Because every verse of Scripture is inspired by God and… Continue

The Living Bread: "Eyes That See, Ears That Hear"

Eyes That See, Ears That Hear

“But your eyes are blessed because they do see, and your ears because they do hear!”—Matthew 13:16

The Holy Spirit helps you to develop these spiritual senses as you walk with Him. Spiritual sensitivity to God is a gift that must be accepted and exercised. Scripture indicates that those who are spiritu… Continue

The Living Bread: "Taking Responsibility"

Taking Responsibility

Then the man replied, “The woman You gave to be with me—she gave me [some fruit] from the tree, and I ate.”—Genesis 3:12

Adam and Eve did everything they could to avoid taking responsibility for their sin. Adam blamed his wife: “She gave me of the tree.” He even pointed an accusing finger at God, saying it was “the woman, whom You gave me.” Eve blamed the serpent saying: “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” God ignored their excuses and announced the judgme… Continue

The Living Bread: "Not in Word but in Power"

Not in Word but in Power

For the kingdom of God is not in talk but in power.—1 Corinthians 4:20

Christianity is not moral platitudes, lofty intentions, and noble thoughts. The fundamental characteristic of God's kingdom is power. Paul faced constant criticism about his work among the early churches. Some of his detractors would travel to cities such as Corinth and speak extensively about all that Paul was doing incorrectly. At times, people in the churches were enticed to believ… Continue
